Household Definition
One parking/use permit per household
A household is defined as a single physical street address
Each apartment or condominium unit is considered a separate household
Fees
A $15 annual fee per household is required for a parking/use permit and must be purchased each year from July 1 through June 30. Upon renewal, the new permit will be electronically uploaded to the household’s FOB within 48 hours.
Residents age 65 and over receive a free permit with valid identification
Active first responders receive a free permit each year with valid identification through the Park and Recreation office, which will be electronically uploaded to the household’s FOB
FOB cost: $20 (required for all users, including seniors and first responders)
Psss Validity
Parking/use permits are valid July 1 through June 30 of the following year
Resident permits are valid during Ice-Fishing Season
Non-Resident Permits (Spring/Summer/Fall)
A limited number of daily non-resident permits are available
$30 per vehicle, per day
Permits must be obtained by calling the Park & Recreation Office, Monday through Friday, 9-4pm
A gate access code will be issued
Daily passes and access codes are valid only for the date purchased

Resident Parking / Use Permit Requirements FOR ALL RESIDENTS UNDER 65 YEARS
A valid parking/use permit is required for all Residents under 65 yr. One permit per household.
FOB Requirement (All Users)
FOBs are required for all town beach access
FOBs are a one-time purchase.
Annual parking/use permits are loaded onto the FOB each year. The town operates on the Fiscal Year, July 1 - June 30.
We are not responsible for lost or stolen FOBs. Replacement FOBs are available for $50
FOBs are available only in person at:Litchfield Park & Recreation Office80 Doyle Road, Bantam, CTMonday–Friday | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Resident Eligibility
Residents of the Town of Litchfield are defined as individuals who are:
Taxpayers of real estate in the Town of Litchfield or
Taxpayers of motor vehicle(s) registered in the Town of Litchfield
Renters residing in Litchfield with proper identification.
Non-residents who are current Litchfield taxpayers qualify under the same conditions.
How to Obtain a Resident Parking / Use Permit and FOB
Create a household account on the Park & Recreation online registration site.
Purchase a Town Beach membership listed under “Programs”.
Purchase a FOB (required for gate access) at the Park and Recreation office, 80 Doyle Road, Bantam, Monday through Friday, 9-4 pm.
Present proof of residency at the Park & Recreation Office.
Proof of Residency Required
Residents must present:
A paid property tax bill/receipt or
A paid motor vehicle tax bill/receipt (with vehicle plate number) or
Copy of current utility bill or rental lease, or
Current ID
